My name is Matilda and I am the founder of Seniors Companion. I work with my sisters and friends. We care for the elders like they are our own. We treat them with respect and care. We are from the isles of the sea where love and care for elders is part of who we are. Our seniors are cared for at home until they pass. When I was 16 my grandfather was returned back from the United states with a terminal illness. He had cancer. He was incontinence and had a wound on his left leg from pressure sores. I learnt to pass him his meds, prepare his meals, clean and care for the wounds. I assisted in personal care and off cousre house keeping was part of the deal since I lived with him. I did all of this to help my mother. He was in a lot of pain towards the end of his life and I helped to comfort him by just giving him tylenol and simply telling him that it was 4am in the morning so he can sleep thinking it was almost daylight but it was only 10pm.
I have cared for my late father who had parkinson disease. He was totally dependent on me. I took him to appointments, fill meds, fed him and all necessary assistance required. Our culture forbids a daughter to give personal care to a father or brother. I, on the other hand am a caregiver decided to give personal care for my father to ensure his safety and proper hygiene. My father passed away 2005 right here in Portland Oregon.
From 1992 to 2005, and 2005 to 2011 I have more experiences in home health care. I have also worked for mentally diabled, mentally retarded, mentally challenged and paralyzed clients. Please refer to senior companion services for more detail of our in home health care services.
I have taken numerous classes and have acquired skills that has been to the practise over and over again. Don't believe my words believe my works! Have great references and my main goal is to serve you to your utmost satisfactory!
In order for any individual in this world to be trustworthy and take full responsibility in their profession they must I repeat they must have a connection with God. I am not perfect and never can be but God is my light.
